Two weeks ‘til Kungsleden!

Hello! This is my first trail dispatch test sent via my mobile phone. I want to make sure I have my communication dialed in before setting off for Sweden! The photo is from my most recent training run around Spot Pond in Medford, MA.

My updates from Kungsleden will likely be brief, but I want to be sure to include tidbits including the highs, lows, any wildlife seen, and of course my progress on the trail. I’ll try it now, as related to the last week or so of training!

The Highs: Having zero knee pain after a little scare a couple weeks ago coming down Beaver Brook Falls in the White Mountains. Feeling antsy and excited to get the heck out there, be in a beautiful place, and do my thing!

The Lows: Well, my brain hurts as I’m trying to wrap my head around timing boat crossings on the Kungsleden. I think logistics will be one of the most challenging parts of this adventure. That being said, the things I worry about before any trek usually end up not being a big deal… and things I didn’t even think to worry about become a giant issue! It might be easier just to not worry so much. It’s all about rolling with the punches anyway, right?

The Wildlife: Hmm, not much to see lately on that front, but I’ve been enjoying a lot of quality time with my cats Bo & Juno before heading out!

If you’d like to learn a little more about what the Kungsleden is all about, check out this fantastic video featuring Emelie Forsberg, the women’s supported record holder of the Kungsleden.

That’s all for now! I’ll probably continue tinkering around with my blog and newsletter settings between now and the trip. If you notice anything malfunctioning, please send me a note as I want everything to be in tip top shape ahead of the hike!
