START - Iron Bridge   Falls Village, CT      3:20 amFINISH - Tyringham (MA) Main Rd.         11:35 pm48.6 miles     20:15       2.4 mph1,553.9 total miles     45.7 mpdNice weather.Mercury had a good, but necessary, day after coming up 7.5 miles short yesterday.Early start, long day - finishing late under a star-filled sky.Patient, persistent and focused were the words for the day as she left CT in the morning and spent the rest the day crossing a valley and going over ridges and mountains in MA.Toe blisters with the new boots are getting better but sore feet continue.She was cheered on by some trail maintainers, and serenaded by a multitude of owls as her headlight/flashlight pierce the deep forest darkness.Another long day is scheduled for tomorrow.
