START:   Pine Grove Furnace State Park  4 amFINISH: North side Susquehanna River   9:15 pm47 miles     17:15     2.7 mph1,156.9 total miles   46.3 miles per day averageOvercast morning   not as hot afternoon/eveningAgain, not wanting to reinjure her left shin, Mercury walked most of the day but at a slightly increased pace.She was able to manage today's mileage without doing any trail hiking after sunset - a hopeful note.It was wonderful to cross the Susquehanna River at day's end, The 'effort' halfway point.Jupiter hopes that Mercury's second half is slightly better (mileage/pace-wise) than the first half. A sub 50-day AT traverse is quite an achievement achieved by just a few.And now onward to the 200 mile of rocks in PA and NJ!
