Forty-first day Su 8/16/20

Her lack of experience on these rugged trails showed in her pace during the first section (1.9 mph). At 11:30 am, she was facing a 27.7 mile roadless section, even more rugged, looming ahead. At her morning pace, this would have meant hiking another 14 hours which would have her ending the day at 1:30 am. A 22.5 hour day is not recommended.So, she took a half-rest day and Jupiter suggested a new goal.The under 50-day goal, on which the rocks and roots of the Whites have passed their judgement on, will be changed to finishing under 52 days  9 hours  42 minutes (which was the legendary ultra-marathoner David Horton's AT record time.)The next three days  will be shortened to better reflect Mercury's 'new' relationship with the footpath of the White Mountains so she will be ready to change gears in Maine!
