Twenty-seventh day Su 8/2/20

START:  PA Rt. 501     4 amFINISH:  PA Rt. 309     10:45 pm50.4 miles    18:45      2.7 mph1,256.9 total miles   46.5 mpdEven with two fierce, torrential thunderstorms, Mercury was able to do her first 50+ mile day today in eleven days. She had hiking companions for her early morning/morning and evening hikes which help. Thanks Mike and Laura! She tried to run a bit in the morning but the left shin pain came back. Unfortunately, the rocks in PA aren't conducive to shin splint recovery. She is tired (naturally) but still positive which is impressive to Jupiter and to those who walk with her.We have been blessed with high temps in the low 80's the past few days and this will continue for more days, even with a rain forecast for Tuesday (tomorrow). It was a good temperature for sleeping last night.Mercury hopes to get as close as possible to the PA/NJ border today (Monday).Onward!
